Surrounded by some of Montalcino's top estates, in the venerable San Polo, and San Polino to the north, and the highly collectible Poggio di Sotto to the south, Terralsole is greatness! Combine that with an all-star winemaker owner, and you have the making of a champion. Hailing from the epic 2010 vintage, this is a must have wine for Italians lovers! 112 cases imported.
Ripe, yet delicate, Terralsole Brunello's are incredibly feminine and dance across the palate with flavors of tart cherry, cocoa, leather, and crushed herbs. The 2010 is still incredibly fresh, and feels like you can taste the sunshine that makes the Terralsole vineyard so special. It’s clear from a single sip that Bollag’s wine’s aren’t made with a recipe--they’re inspired, transcendent, and a clear artistic reflection of the vintage. And delicious, too!
About the wine
This Brunello comes from a single vineyard surrounding the Terralsole estate in the heart of Montalcino, but these wines combine tradition with an international style in a red that’s intriguing, multi layered, and delicious. Since 1996, Terralsole Brunellos have been the 95+ point wines that aren’t made simply by winemakers, but by lawyers turned artists turned winemakers like Bollag, and his Californian wife and business partner Athena.
The pair puts work from master artists straight onto their labels, but their creative backgrounds are palpable in wine too! The 2010 opens with aromas of fresh plums and smoke, and moves seamlessly into a full-bodied Sangiovese dominated by complex earthiness and savory aromas. Fine tannins and refreshing acidity make it a nuanced and finely textured Brunello. This is one for that candlelit dinner you’ve been planning, trust us.
