Hall has consistently been praised by critics, garnering consistent 97+pt scores! This phenomenal Cab not only achieves this, it’s also deserving of a spotlight on its own. Winemaker Steve Leveque deploys the winery’s signature sustainable approach to a bevy of structured, succulent Cab Sauv fruit, leading to a naturally bold yet balanced expression of genuine Napa terroir driven by a decadent yet nuanced mélange of fruit and spice. This tempting treat is typically not distributed to the masses, so delaying on a purchase shouldn’t be an option.

About the wine

2014’s combination of minimal rain and an early harvest provided great conditions for winemaking artists to show their stuff. It certainly provided an outstanding canvas for Hall’s winemaking master Steve Leveque, whose near-intuitive globally-honed skills makes him one of Napa’s Van Goghs. This stupendous Cab Sauv indeed represents Steve's sublime talents at their fullest, providing precise proof why Hall’s governing tandem of Kathryn Walt Hall and Craig Hall entrust her to guard a winemaking legacy that includes several 97+ point wines and a perfect Parker tally. Steve gathers fruit from select Napa bineyards and meticulously deploys biodynamic tactics to ensure the true voice of each grape is clearly heard. They have a lot to say, too. Bold and impeccably concentrated, this rich expression of Cab is Napa wine at its most decadent. Pronounced aromas of intense dark fruit serve as a luscious yin to a nuanced yang of fresh earth, warm baking spice, and integrated oak. Delectable essences of spice and fruit spearhead a balanced palate attack that unfurls amid an unctuous mouthfeel. A long, dense finish is accented with nuanced nudges of crushed rock and dark berry. This special selection won’t be found at the neighborhood wine shop or liquor store, making its acquisition even more of a prized possession.

About the winery & vineyards

The most distinguishing feature on Hall’s property is a 35-foot tall stainless steel rabbit named Bunny Foo-Foo. Behind this whimsical statue stands Kathryn Walt Hall and Craig Hall; a twosome that puts the power in power couple. And “power” may be an understatement. After all, Kathryn was the U.S. Ambassador to Austria from 1997 to 2001, Craig owned part of the Dallas Cowboys for a spell, and the two co-authored “A Perfect Score,” a best-selling book about the winery biz. The duo doesn’t merely wax poetically on viticulture, either. The wines that bear Kathryn’s maiden name and surname, Walt and Hall, have commanded high 95+ scores on a routine basis, a pattern that’s culminated in the holiest of wine tallies, the perfect Parker 100. Their impressive streak bears witness to their unwavering commitment to honoring the true voice of the vineyard. Winemaker extraordinaire Steve Leveque flawlessly executes the twosome’s vision with each label produced, deploying wholly sustainable, environmentally responsible viticultural methods on exemplary fruit plucked from estate vines and trusted vineyard sources. For this exclusive Cab Sauv, Steve turns to the hillside vineyards that line Napa’s famed Soda Canyon corridor, whose elevated vines brilliantly struggle through rocky, dry soils to produce highly structured fruit with black hole density.  Steve gently guides the succulent fruit in a manner that allows their authentic voice to bellow, resulting in an exquisite label that’s destined to double as a dangling carrot to critics and wine lovers alike.

Steve's personal philosophy and professional history demonstrate the reverence for the land and devotion to excellence that Hall embraces.

"Wow, wondering how this possible to acquire a wine with this swagger and decent quantity? Opaque Purple color, dusty nose with dark macerated cherry, raspberry, cocoa nib, bay leaf, artichoke leaf, thyme, red currants and noble oak. Tons of dimension in the palate that emulate the nose of dark berries and fresh herbs. The cocoa butter, dried herbs, and fleshy berries really carry out the tannins and deliver complete harmony on the finish. This is a wine for the ages but sure to impress the masses upon popping that cork. Pair with herb crusted NY Steak, Duck Confit, Coffee Rubber Spare Ribs. Buy a case and you will be rewarded in the near or long term."

Other Offers

Thank you for trusting Vivino for your wine orders! In order to ensure that your wine is protected from the elements during transport, Vivino has developed a comprehensive program for temperature controlled shipping:

  • All shipments to Non-West Coast states (CA, OR, WA, ID, MT, WY, NV, AZ, CO, NM) will be sent via temperature controlled truck to the closest regional hub. These facilities, referred to as "gateways", are temperature controlled and located strategically throughout the country.
  • Once a shipment arrives at the gateway*, it will be transferred to UPS or Fedex for the final part of its journey

* Note that ice packs (if ordered) will be added to your package at this time.

All orders placed before 1pm EST on Wednesday will be shipped out on Friday of the same week. All orders placed after this time will be stored in a temperature controlled warehouse and shipped out the following Friday.

Delivery times, therefore, may take 8-14 days from order date, accounting for fulfillment, 4-5 days shipment to the regional hub, and 1-2 days for local delivery.

If you would like a more expeditious delivery option, please select 2-Day or Overnight Shipping.

Tracking information will not be available for your shipment until it reaches the regional hub, due to the fact that the shipment is sent via common (temperature controlled) carrier and there is no individual tracking number for the package.

You will however receive a confirmation email indicating that your shipment has left the West Coast warehouse and is en route to your closest regional hub. Your order will say "UPS Label Created", but this label will not be scanned until it reaches the regional hub.

Once the shipment reaches the regional hub, you will be able to track your package (likely 4-5 days after shipping date). At this point, the package is en route to your home/office.

  • Your wine can be protected from environmental damage for the entirety of its journey
