Time to stack up a few cases of rose for the warmer days to come! This Texas Girl turned winemaker, who by the way shares the same name as our country's second First Lady,  produced one of our favorite California roses. A limited-production and sophisticated wine that usually disappears in a whirlwind of hands. A vibrant, cheerful expression of Syrah that’s defined by vivacious fruit and briskly exhilarating structure. Bright aromas of strawberry and nuanced citrus flower against a fresh, crisp palate before ending with a perfumed flourish.  A brilliant thirst quencher!

About the wine

No wine passes between the realms of simple and sophistication more fluidly than a good rose. So it stands to reason a killer version would emanate from Abigail Adams Wines; a winery that’s built its sterling reputation on the concept of approachable elegance. This splendid take on lightly-pressed Syrah grapes delivers on this rationale and then some. Winemaker Beth Adams heads from Napa to the California Central Coast and infiltrates one of the Paso Robles area’s finest vineyards, tracking down the most supreme region-defining Syrah fruit she could lay her skilled hands on. It’s a journey well worth the time; this vivacious, strawberry-hued stunner is a charming study in crisp structure and bright, vibrant fruit. Lively notes of strawberry, cranberry, and a touch of citrus caress the nose. These notes excitedly unfold on the mid-palate, buoyed by in invigorating freshness. The journey concludes with a lush, perfumed finish. Less than 650 cases of these ravishing roses were produced; act now or spend the next porch time in the throes of regret.

About the winery & vineyards

Abigail Adams Wines transcend California wine country in a quite literal sense. The family-owned label is based in Yountville, smack dab in the middle of Napa Valley. Yet owner/winemaker Beth Adams also slaps their minimally elegant label on Rhone style wines made a few hours down the coast in Paso Robles. It’s a nifty little wrinkle that proves the rival Golden State regions can coexist and even thrive together. It’s also a splendid analogy for Beth’s ultra-limited production boutique wines, which routinely bridge the gap that far too often wedges itself between approachability and sophistication. Beth turns her attention to the California Central Coast for the creation of this stupendous rose. Specifically, the vines located in Cross Canyon Vineyard just outside Paso Robles, whose deep, alluvial soils and ocean-influenced diurnal temperatures produce a postcard-perfect environment for Syrah grapes to fully flourish. Beth sources the choicest of these succulent grapes and gently yet firmly transforms them into a rose that’s as indulgent on a yacht as it on a creaky wooden back porch.

About the winemaker

Beth Adams’ path to Napa didn’t start at UC Davis or some Old World appellation. It started in North Carolina, where the Texas native fine-tuned her palate for Napa wines while working for a small fine wine distributor. Her path didn’t lead directly to the vineyard when she got to Napa, either. She spent eight years as Sales and Marketing Director for August Briggs Winery, where she produced front-of-the-house glamour while learning back-of-the-house grit. By the time she was ready to put her well-honed acumen to the test, she went big; making her own wine under the Adi label in 2005 and launching the consulting firm Abigail Adams Wine Co. in 2007.  While each of Beth’s limited-production boutique wines are made to celebrate the complex wonders of California terroir, she hasn’t forgotten her roots; her firm is named after her two grandmothers.

Thank you for trusting Vivino for your wine orders! In order to ensure that your wine is protected from the elements during transport, Vivino has developed a comprehensive program for temperature controlled shipping:

  • All shipments to Non-West Coast states (CA, OR, WA, ID, MT, WY, NV, AZ, CO, NM) will be sent via temperature controlled truck to the closest regional hub. These facilities, referred to as "gateways", are temperature controlled and located strategically throughout the country.
  • Once a shipment arrives at the gateway*, it will be transferred to UPS or Fedex for the final part of its journey

* Note that ice packs (if ordered) will be added to your package at this time.

All orders placed before 1pm EST on Wednesday will be shipped out on Friday of the same week. All orders placed after this time will be stored in a temperature controlled warehouse and shipped out the following Friday.

Delivery times, therefore, may take 8-14 days from order date, accounting for fulfillment, 4-5 days shipment to the regional hub, and 1-2 days for local delivery.

If you would like a more expeditious delivery option, please select 2-Day or Overnight Shipping.

Tracking information will not be available for your shipment until it reaches the regional hub, due to the fact that the shipment is sent via common (temperature controlled) carrier and there is no individual tracking number for the package.

You will however receive a confirmation email indicating that your shipment has left the West Coast warehouse and is en route to your closest regional hub. Your order will say "UPS Label Created", but this label will not be scanned until it reaches the regional hub.

Once the shipment reaches the regional hub, you will be able to track your package (likely 4-5 days after shipping date). At this point, the package is en route to your home/office.
