The wine world tends to hit the brakes when Trevor Sheehan releases one of his boutique wines. This luscious, baby-smooth Cab Sauv demonstrates why his handiwork tends to create a clamor. The winemaking impresario turns to an undisclosed vineyard in the white-hot Lodi appellation to create an alluring expression of bright fruit and plush texture. Aromas of plum and black cherry shift to enticing pops of raspberry jam, and sweet boysenberry, while voluptuous tannins lead to a cocoa-smooched finish of ripe red fruit.

About the wine

Trevor Sheehan’s name has affixed itself to plenty of excited chatter in recent years. Yet he’ll be the first to admit that his reputation is only as good as his last wine. If this is the case, this silky smooth Cabernet Sauvignon will continue to move the stock he’s built through boutique labels like Windstorm and Littauer upward. The deeply garnet Cab kicks off with aromatics of black cherry, raspberry, plum and ripe currant before transitioning to a soft landing on the palate. A lush, curvy texture buoys compact bursts of sweet boysenberry, dried, cranberry, and raspberry jam, while supple tannins guide the finish amongst a cocoon of ripe red fruit kissed by a hint of cocoa. It’s an experience that crystallizes why so many wine aficionados follow Trevor’s every move with great enthusiasm.

About the winery and vineyard

It’s not too surprising to hear that the brother-sister team of Trevor and Samantha Sheehan is the duo behind Projection. After all, launching cult, forward-thinking wineries is what they do. The inspiration to launch Projection isn’t much different than the spark that started other boutique projects like Windstorm, POE, and 29 & Oak. Specifically, the label is a platform for them to produce wines that can stand up to selections from the global regions they’ve visited. Trevor carries out this vision in a somewhat clandestine manner, as nobody knows for sure what vineyard he sources his grapes when the time comes to make wine. For this Cab Sauv, the only clue given is that it’s from an eighteen year-old vineyard in Lodi. However, it is widely known that he’ll only check out appellations that he can trust with his reputation. Considering the acclaimed results the duo’s labels receive, this touch of viticultural mystery only adds to the intrigue that inherently comes with owning one of their creations.

About the winemaker

As a winemaker, Trevor Sheehan is in perpetual pursuit of producing perfection. It’s a passionate chase that led him to top global regions like Champagne and Burgundy by the time he was 30, and the knowledge and skills he’s absorbed through such globetrotting has fueled his rise to Napa stardom. It’s an ascent he’s carefully cultivated through the launching of several ultra-small boutique labels like Littauer, Balius, and Xanthos. Even though the recognition behind his name continues to expand, the seeds behind that growth remain somewhat hidden, primarily relegated to various corners of Napa’s restaurant and wine bar scene

TEMPERATURE CONTROLLED SHIPPING OVERVIEW

Thank you for trusting Vivino for your wine orders! In order to ensure that your wine is protected from the elements during transport, Vivino has developed a comprehensive program for temperature controlled shipping:

  • All shipments to Non-West Coast states (CA, OR, WA, ID, MT, WY, NV, AZ, CO, NM) will be sent via temperature controlled truck to the closest regional hub. These facilities, referred to as "gateways", are temperature controlled and located strategically throughout the country.
  • Once a shipment arrives at the gateway*, it will be transferred to UPS or Fedex for the final part of its journey

* Note that ice packs (if ordered) will be added to your package at this time.

SHIPPING SCHEDULES FOR TEMPERATURE CONTROLLED SHIPMENTS

All orders placed before 1pm EST on Wednesday will be shipped out on Friday of the same week. All orders placed after this time will be stored in a temperature controlled warehouse and shipped out the following Friday.

Delivery times, therefore, may take 8-14 days from order date, accounting for fulfillment, 4-5 days shipment to the regional hub, and 1-2 days for local delivery.

If you would like a more expeditious delivery option, please select 2-Day or Overnight Shipping.

TRACKING INFORMATION

Tracking information will not be available for your shipment until it reaches the regional hub, due to the fact that the shipment is sent via common (temperature controlled) carrier and there is no individual tracking number for the package.

You will however receive a confirmation email indicating that your shipment has left the West Coast warehouse and is en route to your closest regional hub. Your order will say "UPS Label Created", but this label will not be scanned until it reaches the regional hub.

Once the shipment reaches the regional hub, you will be able to track your package (likely 4-5 days after shipping date). At this point, the package is en route to your home/office.

KEY ADVANTAGES OF TEMPERATURE CONTROLLED SHIPPING
