Sociando Mallet is a story of innovation, and the results have been delicious since its debut in the late 1960s. From tennis star to lauded winemaker, proprietor Jean Gautreau knows and thing or two about wine, and how to sculpt a run-down estate into a pristine Chateau. That’s exactly what the Haut Medoc estate produces, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to showcase the Demoiselle on Vivino. A Chateau Parker rates as one of Bordeaux's greatest over-achievers!

Now an icon, Sociando Mallet’s Demoiselle is a 50/50 blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. From prime clay soils, this red is deep and rich, with fantastic complexity and aging potential. Subject to the same premier handling in the vineyards and cellar as the Chateau’s namesake wine, Demoiselle is about to be your new favorite wine.

About the wine

Like its dragonfly namesake, the Demoiselle is ethereal and delicate--and we’d expect nothing less from tennis star gone wine guru Jean Gautreau. Inspired by the unique, clay-dominant terroir at Sociando Mallet, he abandoned a thriving negociant career for a focus on estate wines. Now a well-respected Chateau in its own right, Sociado Mallet magically combines structure and lightness in traditional Bordeaux blends destined for long lives in cellars worldwide. An even split between Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, the two powerhouses of the Haut Medoc, the ‘15 Demoiselle is a refreshing version of a classic, ageable style. Made from younger vines across the estate, it combines juicy red fruit with minerality and just enough tannin to age. Though technically estate’s second wine, though there’s nothing subpar about it.

From the stellar ‘15 vintage, these wines are disappearing immediately upon release and won’t be back--except on auction blocks at 10x the price, and that’s if you’re lucky. Why wait? Get in on the next great Bordeaux today.

"Lots of layers in the aftertaste. A real treat." - Fed

"My favorite chateaux in the whole of the Medoc. beautiful velvety finish." - Moshe C.

"Brilliant purple color with a ruby hue. A bit subdued nose up front but after an in the decanter, the nose really starts to blossom. Full of red and black fruits, dark cherry, black plum, fragrant fresh boysenberries, dark Belgium chocolate, ground spice and mineral notes. This has a balanced refined silky texture and distinct Bordeaux like fruit structure that meets fine grained tannins and well-integrated oak. Pair with Coq au vin, Rosemary crusted rack of lamb, Grilled Pork tenderloin, Bacon Cheddar Cheeseburger and more. Drink this beauty now, but decant,  or follow over the next decade plus. In a few words, terrific and case buy without a doubt."

TEMPERATURE CONTROLLED SHIPPING OVERVIEW

Thank you for trusting Vivino for your wine orders! In order to ensure that your wine is protected from the elements during transport, Vivino has developed a comprehensive program for temperature controlled shipping:

  • All shipments to Non-West Coast states (CA, OR, WA, ID, MT, WY, NV, AZ, CO, NM) will be sent via temperature controlled truck to the closest regional hub. These facilities, referred to as "gateways", are temperature controlled and located strategically throughout the country.
  • Once a shipment arrives at the gateway*, it will be transferred to UPS or Fedex for the final part of its journey

* Note that ice packs (if ordered) will be added to your package at this time.

SHIPPING SCHEDULES FOR TEMPERATURE CONTROLLED SHIPMENTS

All orders placed before 1pm EST on Wednesday will be shipped out on Friday of the same week. All orders placed after this time will be stored in a temperature controlled warehouse and shipped out the following Friday.

Delivery times, therefore, may take 8-14 days from order date, accounting for fulfillment, 4-5 days shipment to the regional hub, and 1-2 days for local delivery.

If you would like a more expeditious delivery option, please select 2-Day or Overnight Shipping.

TRACKING INFORMATION

Tracking information will not be available for your shipment until it reaches the regional hub, due to the fact that the shipment is sent via common (temperature controlled) carrier and there is no individual tracking number for the package.

You will however receive a confirmation email indicating that your shipment has left the West Coast warehouse and is en route to your closest regional hub. Your order will say "UPS Label Created", but this label will not be scanned until it reaches the regional hub.

Once the shipment reaches the regional hub, you will be able to track your package (likely 4-5 days after shipping date). At this point, the package is en route to your home/office.

KEY ADVANTAGES OF TEMPERATURE CONTROLLED SHIPPING
